A-TIPSOM celebrating the World Day against trafficking in persons.

The A-TIPSOM team, Action Against Trafficking in Persons and Smuggling of Migrants in Nigeria, attended on July 30 a conference held in Abuja due to the celebration of the World Day against trafficking in persons.

The event was programmed by NAPTIP (National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons) which is a beneficiary of the project funded by the EU and implemented by FIIAPP. It counted with the participation of civil and governmental organizations and different personalities and collaborators, such as the Ambassador of Spain in Nigeria, Mr. Marcelino Cabanas Ansorena, accompanied by the attaché of the Ministry of the Interior, Mr. Lorenzo Fages Cortes, who showed his support to the project.

The A-TIPSOM team participated actively in different events organized during that week, including a football match with the aim of raising awareness among the young population on the dangers involved in human trafficking, and the mafias who are engaged in trafficking and selling people.

The event was joined by a large representation of members of the Spanish community in Nigeria, as well as members of other embassies, accompanied by Mr. Gonzalo Sanz, deputy of the Spanish embassy in Nigeria, among others.
