Call For Submission of Films

Human trafficking exists in Nigeria and around the world today, and it affects women, girls, children and youth. Human trafficking leaves no country untouched. Nigerians are trafficked right here and outside the borders to Europe and other continents.

Combating human trafficking requires multifaceted approaches from advocates, including journalists and film makers. There is need to have film makers to use their platforms in campaigning against human trafficking and smuggling of migrants. Awareness through movies and documentaries and including anti-human trafficking contents in Nigerian films are vital in the prevention of human trafficking.

As part of the Prevention Strategy Outcome two (2) of The Action Against Trafficking in Persons and Smuggling of Migrants in Nigeria (A-TIPSOM), a project funded by European Union and implemented by FIIAPP, A-TIPSOM Film Exhibition is initiated to boost awareness on human trafficking and Smuggling of migrants. It will include short clips and movies on human trafficking and smuggling of migrants made by Nigeria film makers. It is scheduled for 24th October 2020 in Abuja and Lagos, but this date depends on government directives on COVID19 pandemic.

The film exhibition will be attended by top government officials, members of diplomatic missions, youth, students, representatives of non-governmental organizations, and survivors of human trafficking.

Hence, Nigerian film makers are invited to submit an already produced film (feature/documentary base on trafficking in persons (and smuggling of migrants).
